Healthy Eating
As part of our Healthy Eating curriculum red class went to the Royal Agricultural College for an exciting and informative morning looking at, and tasing, different foods. The themes for the day were:
Where our food comes from
Food and Healthy Eating
Food and Culture
The children had the opportunity to taste food from other parts of the world, to try different fruits and vegetables and to talk about the importance of a balanced diet (the daily pizza) and drinking plenty of clean water.
Professor Pizza was our host for the day and he used the daily pizza to explain how a 'balance diet' is made up
Food from around the world was first inspected...... |
......and then tried with enthusiasm |
The children learnt that a glass of fruit jucie can be one of their 5 a day. Here they got the chance to try 5 different flavours - the most popular was the mixed fruit but carot juice didn't gain many votes. |

At this colourful and attractive table | we were encouraged to try everything |
Even after all that food we still managed to enjoy our healthy packed lunches in the college grounds | |
