Achievement and Lots of Fun...

Good news - the Cotswold Sports Partnership (of which we are a member) have been awarded the 'Sports Partnership Mark 2007'. This award recognises the few partnerships who have 'excelled in the delivery of the National School Sport Strategy' They achieved 97% of pupils participating in a minimum of 2 hours of PE or School Sport every week.

We are a Church of England Voluntary controlled school for 4 to 11 year olds based in the small Cotswold Village of North Cerney in Gloucestershire. We are just 3 miles from Cirencester and within easy reach of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

The curriculum theme for Purple Class (Yrs 5 & 6) for the next two terms is the very topical "Keen to be Green". They will be looking at global issues.

Red Class (Yrs 4 & 5) are learning about mountains and mountain protection and their impact on the environment.

Green Class (KS1) are looking at weather issues and dragons!!

The children will have access to a variety of visitors, such as the Everyman Theatre presenting an environmental issues play, and will be visiting the organic Abbey Farm as part of their learning. We also hope to teach the children effective composting techniques and how to make a wormery. Plans are in place to use the Forest classroom at Rendcomb on a regular basis to bring the issues alive!!!

We see our size as our strength. The small class sizes and award winning staff mean we can provide a challenging and supportive enviroment where each child progresses at their own pace and achieves their full potential.
